Our Universe- ‘A Special Place to Live on’

Our Universe is still a place of mystery and wonder.                                  

We are often left to ponder upon the questions relating to our existence-

What’s our beginning?

Whether we’re alone?

What’s the future of our cosmos?

What’s the reality
and what is the nature of this reality?

With every advancement in Science and Technology, new questions pop in front. Of the numerous complex compounds, mixtures etc. , the most complex thing that even science has failed to explain is the Human Being, in particular ‘the Human Brain’.

Even though developments have taken place scientifically, most remarkable is that atoms, which are the building blocks of any entity, living or otherwise, have assembled into entities which has’een somehow able to ponder upon their origins, beguiled they are the Human beings.

We have always been fascinated by our existence and why not? of all the wonders of creation, life is the most mysterious and of all the creatures, you and me are the most special because we have the ability to think, investigate, question and understand. Understand what? Understand our own existence, understand the place that we live in, understand the arcane of hallowing laws of nature, the very fundamental laws of Physics. Surely there’s a key to all the questions, after all this very universe must have come to existence out of the pool of a beholder to these entire questionnaire. If we are guided by the Fundamental laws, our mind and brain must be the same, isn’t it?

Religion offers a simple answer to them all, a simple explanation if one can see- ‘God created everything and only God knows why we are here’. Science however, came to a different conclusion. It found no evidence for a grand plan, yet recent discoveries have made scientists think again. It has always proved to be true and seemingly even today, ancient notions may be closer to the truth that science may ever imagine. Perhaps there is after all- a creator and creation may not be what we think it is!

Every religion has its own fanatics and stories to propagate- from God making the Universe in 6 days to an endless cycle of universe created from dead ones, to the whole universe being created in a single divine breath. But one idea underpins all these beliefs- ‘Human beings have a special place and purpose in this universe’. Probably with advancement and scientific theories underway, the story of a creator became insignificant and our special place, a less special one…..

But as the ghost of buried truth haunts the hostile and guilty until the undermined treason is unveiled, the myth of the creator and an intelligent designer has always delimited science. The world is bigger than one might think- we aren’t the centre of universe- we are just tiny creatures surviving on a spinning ball

on a Planet which is one among many,

in a Solar System which is one among the many

and a Galaxy which is one among the many.

Theories explain that in the beginning there was Gas made up of simple atoms, in the overtime stars transformed these atoms into a more complex ones. As these heavier atoms spread throughout the universe, they combined to create everything we can see or feel today, some as such while still some –beyond the scope of our intelligence, even to ponder upon. However, the underlining fact is that this whole process was driven not by a creator, but by the basic Fundamental Laws of Physics or rightly called by the greatest discoverers as ‘The LAWS OF NATURE’. Inclusive were, the values of constants – ‘the value of g’ , ‘The Gravitational constant’ , ‘the speed of light in vacuum’ and the ‘charge carried by an electron’.

The difference between these laws of nature and the law of the land is that- no matter what your political persuasion is, no matter how and wherefrom this laws operate or made and no matter what these laws ask us of- whether you may like it or not, you have to accept them. There’s no exception to the laws of nature.

The fact is that the values of the Fundamental Laws of Nature, which were set at the very outset in the Big Bang, were so precise in their way to support such complexities on our planet. A small variation in their values would lead to a complete collapse of our very own existence.

The study of Physics was set in the Big Bang, rest what followed it was just Mathematics.

So, was the Big Bang as simple recipe to explain?

Mathematics might just explain as to how the planets formed but not everything. Surely the evolution of life is still mysterious, a special one to discuss.

Well, people have a big notion under their head that the whole of this stuff is complicated. But then, for the genius of course, Mathematics is actually a simple stuff, working within the limitations of integrals and differentials and all those stuffs. It is that stuff which enables us to clearly understand something which one  reads but just think- is the line drawn only on that pareil that something is read and the book is closed and someone says you that, ‘O.k. here is all that might just be concluded from all these pages.’ Mathematics gives us the proof to all these pages.

Just think, there are actually a myriad species around us in our environment and if Mathematics really explains the calculus and geometry of the aftermath of Big-Bang, then does Biology also have a link somewhere with Mathematics? Well we all know, Physics does have a link but is it all!  How beautifully the variation of just one molecule makes one entity behave so differently from the other. Even though life may be battling out with complexity, the complexity arrives out of simple rules- the evidence comes from a game whose results are so unpredictable that it may be called- ‘LIFE’

His favourite premier league team- LIVERPOOL and happened to be an ardent fan of sporting personalities- Michael Schumacher and Roger Federer.
